Wow! What a sweet summer! Thank you to the many event organisers for having me as a part of your fabulous conscious events. It was a delight to share my workshops at Buddhafield Festival, and Freezone Festival... both very special gatherings for yoga, meditation, wellness, Buddhism, play, music and dance, in the heart of the rolling country side.
A huge well done and thank you to all the glorious souls who came and took part in the 'Your Voice & the vagus nerve' workshops. It can be deep work; often bringing up a lot that has been stored in the body (old emotional trauma, beliefs held at the level of Mind), and, when we feel the release, or don't yet feel a release, it can be strong, or lead to deeper enquiry...
"What is this feeling I'm having? What does it want to tell me? Where am I meeting 'blocks' in the body... Ahhh... here is my voice... at last! Do I have permission to be heard...?"
I always feel so humbled by the people that I work together with; the willingness to explore the voice, and it's unique, personal, landscape. It is brave work.
When the body begins to release (the voice learns to release), and we find our freedom and resonance in singing and speaking... the transformations can be huge! Going from a place of 'stuckness', to a place of wellbeing, joy, improved confidence, and embodied freedom.
Also... well done to all of you who stuck it out in the heat! - This was a learning curve for me; next year, if we have glorious 34degree sunshine, I'll request that we explore the voice in the morning or evening (or change the workshop to 'Singing whilst melting!' ha!).
I am in talks about running some voice-retreat weekends, and more workshops are in the pipe line... watch this space.
