Your voice and the vagus nerve... sing, relax!

Updated: May 8, 2022

The vagus nerve, also called the X cranial nerve, is the longest and most complex of all the cranial nerves. The vagus nerve runs from the brain through the face and thorax, all through and around your voice-box to the abdomen. So, why am I telling you this?...

Well, the vagus nerve makes up part for your Parasympathetic nervous system, the system responsible for creating feelings of CALM and RELAXATION, regulating your heart beat, your breathing, the flow of your gut, and a whole host of other amazing things.

Working with a voice-specialist, such as myself, this wonder-nerve, can be naturally stimulated, to take the body & mind to a place where you feel deeply ok, relaxed and regulated.

"That was wonderful, thank you so much. I feel so calm and centred, like a brand new person"- 2022 client

The larynx and pharynx make up part of the vocal-system in your throat. The vagus nerve travels through this on its way down to the rest of your body. By working with the voice exercises and sound-release-techniques that I have honed over my 22years helping people, I see the transformative result brought about by positive stimulation of the vagus nerve; your body quickly unlocks it's innate healing intelligence, tapping back into a state wellbeing, calm, homeostasis.

It goes without saying that the work has multiple positive knock-on effects for clients... better sleep, improved energy, calmness, a feeling of being able to cope with life, digestion improvement, reduced stress & anxiety. And the sessions are uplifting and cathartic... it is singing after all!
